Talk-It-Up offers two inspirational workshops:

Purpose and Place Workshop:

In this workshop, participants will learn how they are uniquely wired by identifying their individual passions, gifts, and personal attributes. This information will be used to coach participants on how to utilize their unique gifts to serve themselves and others most effectively.

My Mission Statement Workshop:

During this workshop, Participants will

1) Develop a personal mission statement
2) Incorporate their passions, gifts, and personal style into their mission statement

3) Identify both personal and career goals

4) Establish a timeline/roadmap for personal growth and the fulfillment of their established goals.

Volunteers Key Roles

Facilitators are responsible for facilitating workshops and discussion groups of 10 to 15 individuals. These workshops will focus on relationship building and personal growth. In addition, facilitators should have the ability to create a safe and intimate space for open and honest dialogue, provide recommendations on program needs and development, be willing to share personal life-changing experiences, and conduct course evaluations. Facilitators are required to have effective communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to efficiently manage conflict.

Speakers are responsible for effectively communicating, motivating and educating parents and their teens on the challenges both face living in an economically depressed environ- ment- They are also expected to provide proven and feasible solutions for parents and their teens in order to make lifestyle changes that support their gifts, passions, and goals. Speakers should have the ability to sustain engaging and honest dialogue while cultivating trust and a willingness to share personal life altering experiences. Speakers are required to have effective presentation, communication and interpersonal skills.
